It is named to celebrate the purchase in 1744 of Taylor's first property in the Douro Valley. A blend of full bodied young red wines from Cima Corgo, mellowed by several years of maturation in oak. The resulting wine is a deep ruby colour with a powerful fruity aromas of blackcurrant, plum, and a little liquorice.
