Aged for around two decades in French oak, this Armagnac reflects a more mature and integrated style within the Janneau range. Produced in Gascony using a combination of column and pot still distillation, it retains the category’s characteristic richness while gaining additional depth from extended time in cask. The longer aging allows oak influence to soften and merge with the spirit’s natural fruit profile, creating a more cohesive and layered result. Compared to younger Armagnacs, the profile becomes less overtly fresh and more focused on dried fruit, spice, and subtle oxidative notes. The dual distillation approach contributes both structure and aromatic lift, distinguishing it from purely column-distilled examples. It is best enjoyed neat, where its complexity and texture can be fully appreciated, though a small amount of water can help open up its more delicate aromas.
