The Kronenbourg brewery was founded in 1664 by Geronimus Hatt in Strasbourg, France. The brewery takes its name from the area it relocated to in 1850, after the frequent flooding of the nearby river caused issues at the brewery. In the 1950s, after the launch of what would become their most recognised product, Kronenbourg 1664, the brewery began expanding into international markets who fell in love with it. Today, Kronenbourg beers account for over a third of all beers enjoyed in France and is the number one premium French beer in the world.
