Scapegrace Black is a naturally black gin from New Zealand. It gets its dark colour from the botanicals used in production, including aronia berry, butterfly pea, saffron, pineapple and sweet potato, to name a few. What's more intriguing is that the spirit changes colour when mixed with tonic water, becoming a various shades of pink and blue. On the palate, it's full-bodied, with a menthol-like crispness, that's naturally chilling and fresh, with just a hint of spice. The finish is long, with naturally candied and tropical flavours.
