Wolfschmidt dates back to 1847 in Riga, Latvia, where the distillery produced and supplied 'ochishchenoje stolovoje vino', rectified table wine, better known today as vodka, to the Russian tsars Nikolaj I and Alexander III. In 1847, the distillery began producing kummel from an old Danish recipe.
Today, produced in The Netherlands, Wolfschmidt is the brand leader in this small sector. |
