Description

Description:

Zuccardi Concreto Malbec Magnum 2021 is a beautifully expressive and textural interpretation of Argentine Malbec from Bodega Zuccardi, a winery internationally acclaimed for its adventurous approach to terroir and natural winemaking. Crafted from select high-altitude vineyards in the Uco Valley, this elegant Malbec is vinified using concrete eggs — an ancient yet highly effective vessel that promotes gentle micro-oxygenation without oak influence — producing a wine of striking purity, remarkable texture, and impressive presence, now presented in a generous magnum format ideal for celebration, shared meals, or extended ageing. The 2021 vintage in the Uco Valley yields fruit with vibrant acidity, concentrated flavour, and excellent physiological ripeness, allowing the Concreto Malbec to balance depth and freshness with striking aromatic clarity. The combination of sustainably farmed vineyards, careful hand harvesting, and minimalist winemaking yields an honest expression of site and variety, defining this Malbec as both powerful and poised. It embodies the essence of Argentine Malbec made with terroir focus, textural finesse, and minimalist winemaking integrity. Generous in scale and refined in expression, it is a wine that speaks both to the vineyard’s character and your table’s best moments.

Serve at 16–18 °C (61–64 °F) to appreciate the wine’s aromatic nuance and layered texture. Concreto Malbec pairs beautifully with: slow-roasted lamb shoulder, charred flank steak, grilled portobello mushrooms and aged cheeses such as Manchego or Pecorino.

Tasting Notes
Appearance:
Deep, luminous violet-garnet that speaks to concentration and youthful intensity.

Nose:
Perfumed and expressive, with layers of black plum, blueberry, and dark cherry mingled with floral violet notes, hints of graphite, and subtle herbal lift. Earthy undertones and fine mineral spice suggest the crystalline soils of the Uco Valley.

Palate:
Medium- to full-bodied with a striking, textured mouthfeel shaped by concrete ageing. Flavours of rich black fruits, black currant, and briary complexity are complemented by heightened mineral tension, fine tannins, and vibrant acidity—creating a profile that is both layered and harmonious.

Finish:
Long, poised, and refreshing, with lingering dark fruit, mineral resonance, and a refined sense of balance that echoes the wine’s structural sophistication.
