FEW Bourbon Whiskey is based on a three-grain recipe, infusing Southern tradition with spicy northern rye and smooth malt. Distilled from a mash of 70% corn, 20% rye and 10% malted barley, the whiskey is matured for three years in young Minnesota oak barrels. A rich and inviting copper colour. Initially on the nose, there are aromas of corn, sweet caramel and spicy oak with a slight herbal character. Corn is again noticeable on the palate, followed by cinnamon and clove and some more resinous herbal notes. Caramel and pine notes linger in the finish. A bourbon for those looking for something a little different; still distinctly recognisable as a bourbon but novel enough to stand out from the crowd. All the ingredients FEW use are all sourced locally where possible, or from friends of the distillery where it isn't. All the grain is grown within 100 miles of the distillery door. |
