The 2012 vintage of Louis Roederer Cristal Champagne has a golden yellow colour with glistening gold tints. It has a vigorous and dynamic effervescence, that you can almost hear! Rich and complex aromas with notes of zesty and candied lemon mingling with white flowers, roasted hazelnuts and Madagascar vanilla. The bouquet develops rich notes of fresh pastries and smoky notes, that comes from bottle ageing. A most delicious, concentrated and chalky palate, exhibiting tension and perfect aromatic precision. The attack is powerful, distinctive and concentrated, revealing a silky texture; a characteristic of the ripe Pinot noir grapes in the 2012 vintage. A deep, vinous wine, both bright and noble, with great finesse, a true Cristal. The finish is long and concentrated. Louis Roederer Cristal champagne is created only during the very best years, when the grapes are of an unparalleled quality. The house draws on grands crus from the Montagne de Reims, the Marne Valley and the Cote des Blancs, ageing the wine for six years in the cellars and allowing to mature for a further eight months before releasing at the perfect maturity. Cristal represents the most exceptional cuveé of the House of Louis Roederer. Crafted in 1876 at the request of the Russian Tsar Alexander II to satisfy his demanding tastes, this distinguished champagne was presented in a flat-bottomed transparent lead-crystal bottle so that the Tsar could be certain no one had tampered with it. The champagne continues to produced in this unique and iconic bottle today. The champagne bottle is presented wrapped in a golden UV-light resistant cellophane wrap inside a Louis Roederer Cristal branded box. |
