Sazerac Rye is the original New Orleans whiskey. In the 19th Century, the Sazerac Coffee House on Royal Street began selling a cocktail that would go on to fame, known simply as the 'Sazerac', made from rye whiskey and Peychaud's Bitters. This is the original Sazerac Rye whiskey. Matured in oak barrels for 6 years, the spirit is a rich amber colour. On the nose, there are aromas of clove, vanilla, anise and pepper. To taste, spicy cinnamon and pepper are up front, with sweeter vanilla and caramel notes running throughout. Fruitier flavours appear in the finish with just a touch of lingering spice.
