Aluna Coconut Rum has the fresh, natural taste of coconut together with the warmth of the white rum with a remarkably smooth and clean finish. It's a delicious, lower sugar, non-synthetic alternative with a new flavour dimension. This high altitude Guatemalan rum is made with virgin sugar cane honey (miel de cana). This makes a lighter and smoother rum that has a natural subtle sweetness. This removes the need for the addition of a large amount of sugar that is so often found in other coconut rums. A strain of yeast extracted from pineapple is used to ferment the sugar cane honey. This slowly releases the floral and fruity aromas into the rum which is then lightly aged in oak. Selected Caribbean rums add firmer, classic rum notes and a little heat, and finally lightly toasted natural coconut provides balance and structure to the blend.
