A rich, golden amber hue. Angostura 1919 has a complex nose which reveals aromas of cocoa, molasses, caramel and vanilla. On the palate is exceptionally smooth with flavours of chocolate, nougat, honey an almond butter. The finish is delightfully long and creamy. Epitomising the best that Trinidad has to offer, Angostura 1919 is made from a blend of light and heavy molasses-based rums for an extraordinarily smooth and irresistible taste that simply enchants the senses.
Background: Ageing has always been the key. The rums are aged in American oak barrels, specially selected for their extra char and must have been used previously to age light rum. This contributes to the golden colour and lighter flavours of the resulting rum, even though they have been aged for 8 years.
