4.5 Litre - Rehoboam size bottle. A fine drop of Ardbeg bottled at cask strength. A rich, weighty aroma with smoky aromatics which only increase in intensity with a drop of water. Through the smoke, one finds notes of pine with sweetness of toffee and chocolate-coated raisins. On the palate it is initially sweet giving way to smoky, spicy flavours and chewy treacle. A long, lingering finish with deep mocha tones and aromatic smoke. Uigeadail (pronounced 'Oog-a-dal') is named after Loch Uigeadail from which a fast flowing stream carries water down the hills to the Ardbeg distillery to produce the 'Ultimate Islay Malt'. You can enjoy the Islay landscape with a dram of this fine whisky. Winner of World Whisky of The Year title in Jim Murray's 2009 Whisky Bible. |
