Presented in methuselah format (6 litres, equivalent to eight standard bottles), this expression represents a large-format version of the flagship Brut Gold cuvee from Armand de Brignac. Produced in the Champagne region of France by the Cattier family, it follows the same multi vintage blending philosophy, but with notable differences in ageing behaviour due to bottle size. The blend combines Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, typically drawn from Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards. The composition is assembled from multiple vintages, allowing consistency while building layered complexity. Vinification is carried out on a parcel basis, with each vineyard lot fermented separately. Only the first pressing is used, ensuring purity and precision in the base wines. Malolactic fermentation is completed to soften acidity and enhance texture.
Extended ageing on lees is a defining feature. In methuselah format, the lower ratio of oxygen to liquid slows the maturation process, resulting in finer mousse development and greater integration over time. This leads to a more cohesive structure compared to standard bottles. A distinctive element of this cuvee is the use of dosage aged in oak barrels, which contributes additional richness and a subtle toasted character. The wine develops notes of brioche, honey, and soft spice while maintaining freshness and fruit clarity. The large format also enhances stability and longevity, making it particularly suited to extended ageing or high-end presentation. Each bottle is finished with a metallic gold coating and hand-applied pewter label, reinforcing its luxury positioning.
The overall style is rich, creamy, and structured, with a balance between ripe fruit, autolytic depth, and controlled minerality. The methuselah format amplifies texture and integration, giving a more refined and cohesive expression than smaller formats.
