Rich golden bronze in colour. Blackcurrant, brown sugar, orange, plum and raisin on the nose. Fruit and syrup on the palate. Followed by hazelnut with hints of cinnamon and lemon. A butterscotch sweetness adds to the overall complexity. Fresh and fruity, with long lasting oaky sweet finish. This unique Auchentoshan Lowland Single Malt Whisky has been matured in three different cask types. Moving from American Bourbon to Spanish Oloroso Sherry - and finally Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks - Three Wood is a rich, complex whisky with incredible toffee and sherry oak flavours.
Background: In the Gaelic tongue, Auchentoshan means 'the corner of the field': a clear illustration of the rolling Lowland backdrop of the distillery, ideally situated between the Kilpatrick hills, Loch Lomond and the modern cosmopolitan city of Glasgow. At Auchentoshan, unlike any other distillery in Scotland, the spirit is triple distilled to create a single malt whisky that is both pure and smooth - renowned for its soft, delicate character.
