Description

Description:

Bain's Single Grain Whisky is a true South African original and was the country's first commercially produced single grain whisky. Crafted at the James Sedgwick Distillery in Wellington, it is named after Scottish engineer Andrew Geddes Bain, whose famous Bainskloof Pass helped open up the Cape's interior. Made exclusively from locally grown yellow maize and pure mountain water, Bain's has become one of South Africa's most awarded whiskies and a respected name on the world whisky stage.

What sets Bain's apart is its unique double maturation process. After spending three years in first-fill ex-bourbon casks, the whisky is transferred into a fresh set of first-fill bourbon barrels for a further 18 to 30 months. This uncommon approach creates exceptional smoothness while building layers of vanilla, honey, toasted oak and gentle spice. The result is a rich yet approachable whisky that is equally enjoyable for newcomers and seasoned whisky enthusiasts alike.

Whether enjoyed neat, over ice or in a premium whisky cocktail, Bain's delivers an easy-drinking style with remarkable depth. Its creamy texture and naturally sweet character make it an excellent alternative to both traditional Scotch grain whiskies and smooth American bourbons.
