Aged in a first fill, ex-bourbon cask for a minimum of 12 years, Balvenie Single Barrel is selected cask by cask and sampled by the Malt Master before being given the stamp of approval to be bottled. The casks used have previously been used for ageing by Bourbon distillers, and when brought to Scotland and used for the very first time they are termed 'First Fill'. Each bottle is one of no more than 300 in total, drawn from a single cask. Every bottle being hand-numbered and number of the cask in which it matured. Balvenie Single Barrel First Fill has a bounty of sweet oak and spice on the nose. Rich and complex taste with deep vanilla oakiness, with honey notes overlaid with sweet fruits and subtle spices. A Lingering sweet finish.
