A Multi award-winning Vatted Malt from Islay, Big Peat is created using only the finest Islay Malts; including Ardbeg, Bowmore, Caol Ila and also Port Ellen, the now closed distillery. Created in 2009, Big Peat is pretty much as natural as it comes - Non chill-filtered, No colouring and produced in small batch bottlings The contemporary and fun packaging contains a serious and credible Islay Malt Whisky, endorsed by leading Malt aficionados including the world renown whisky critic, Jim Murray. Big Peat on the nose fresh, salty and clean, developing to sweet malted barley dried over peat, with a damp earthy character. On the palate you find ash, sweet tar, beaches and smoking chimneys. A long and lingering finish, it replicates the palate with salty, tangy liquorice, smoke and bonfire ashes.
