Founded in 1798 by Memmie Jacquesson in the village of Dizy, Jacquesson is widely recognised as one of Champagne's oldest independent houses.
Despite its historic roots, at one point employing the future founder of another great house, Krug, the company underwent a profound transformation in the late 20th-century.
In 1988, brothers Jean-Hervé Chiquet and Laurent Chiquet took the helm and redirected the house's vision: emphasising terroir-driven viticulture, minimal dosage, and vineyard-specific bottlings.
Their aim? To elevate Jacquesson from 'good' to world-class by focusing on depth, character and terroir rather than volume.
The vineyards now span Grand-Cru and Premier-Cru sites in Aÿ, Avize, Oiry, Dizy and Hautvillers, ensuring the grapes reflect some of the best terroirs in Champagne.
Production is deliberately small - fewer than 300,000 bottles annually, so quality remains paramount.
Today, Jasquesson sits at the crossroads of tradition and innovation. Each cuvée is numbered to reflect its unique character (e.g., the '700 series'), and late-disgorgement releases highlight its cellar-craft mastery.
Whether you're a Champagne purist or a curious enthusiast, Jacquesson offers refined, expressive wines that reward with elegance and longevity.
