Description

Description:

This is a Sicilian Chardonnay made in a more international style, where the focus is on ripeness, texture, and a polished finish rather than the sharper, more mineral profile of cooler regions. Planeta was one of the producers that helped establish this style in Sicily, combining warmer climate fruit with controlled use of oak to create something fuller and more structured. Compared to lighter Chardonnay, this feels broader from the start, with the fruit coming through more readily and with a slightly richer tone, while still being kept in balance by a steady line of freshness. It opens smoothly, without sharp edges, giving a more rounded first impression.

Across the palate, the wine moves in a steady and continuous way, with the fruit, oak, and acidity working together rather than in separate stages, creating a cohesive and well integrated flow. The structure is present but not firm, allowing the wine to feel full without becoming heavy. The oak influence is clearly part of the wine but sits within it rather than on top, adding depth and a slight warmth without overpowering the fruit, which helps maintain balance. The texture is smooth and slightly creamy, with enough weight to carry the wine while still keeping a sense of control and clarity. Overall, this is a fuller, more polished Chardonnay, showing a balance between ripeness and structure, with a style that is approachable, rounded, and well integrated.
