Description

Description:

From the southern part of Burgundy’s Cote d’Or, this wine brings together fruit from several villages within the Cote de Beaune, giving it a broader and more balanced expression rather than the focus of a single vineyard. Joseph Drouhin is known for a lighter, more restrained house style, and that comes through clearly here, with an emphasis on finesse and harmony over power.  The wine sits in a middle ground between regional Bourgogne and more structured village wines, offering a bit more depth while still keeping an easy, approachable feel. It does not push intensity, instead showing a more measured character, where everything feels controlled from the start. There is a natural softness to the way it opens, with the fruit appearing gently rather than all at once, supported by a fine structure that keeps it in place. As it moves across the palate, the wine keeps a steady, even line, with no sharp edges or sudden shifts, giving a smooth and continuous flow.

The underlying notes, including light spice and a subtle earthy touch, sit within the wine rather than standing apart, adding depth without interrupting the balance. The tannins are fine and well integrated, giving shape without grip, which reinforces the overall sense of elegance.  Overall, this is a classic Cote de Beaune red, showing Pinot Noir in a refined and composed way, with a focus on balance, texture, and quiet complexity rather than weight.
