The Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve is a limited edition re-release of a discontinued whisky, brought back by Master Blender Richard Paterson due to popular demand from fans of the original malt. As the name suggests, The Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve was especially crafted to compliment the finest of cigars. A blend of malts aged in ex-bourbon casks and Matusalem oloroso sherry butts married together in Cabernet Sauvignon wine barriques. On the nose, traditional Dalmore fruit flavours, oranges and cherries. The sherry notes are rich and readily apparent. Sweet flavours reveal themselves on the palate, with more tropical fruit flavours, mango and banana. A smooth toffee sweetness too, with vanilla and spices. A long finish with notes of treacle, licorice and a touch more fruitiness.
