Description

Description:

Drawn exclusively from Chardonnay, this cuvee reflects a more restrained and mineral driven interpretation of vintage Champagne. The 2013 growing season was notably cooler and later than average, resulting in fruit with high acidity and strong structural tension rather than overt ripeness. Grapes are sourced primarily from Grand Cru vineyards in the Cote des Blancs, including Avize, Le Mesnil sur Oger, and Oger. These chalk rich sites contribute a pronounced mineral backbone, along with the precision and ageing potential typical of top Chardonnay in the region.

Fermentation is handled in temperature controlled stainless steel, allowing the purity of fruit to remain clearly defined. Individual parcels are vinified separately before blending, giving the cellar team control over balance and structure. Several years of maturation on lees shape the wine’s texture and aromatic complexity. During this period, fine bubbles develop alongside notes of brioche, pastry, and light toast, while the underlying citrus and floral elements remain intact. The 2013 vintage stands out for its linear profile. Rather than richness, the emphasis is on clarity, freshness, and precision, with a tightly structured palate that benefits from time in bottle.

Overall, the style is focused and elegant, combining sharp citrus, chalky minerality, and subtle autolytic depth in a controlled and refined expression.

Citrus zest, green apple, and white flowers lead, followed by hints of brioche and almond. A clear mineral note adds lift.

Palate:
Precise and structured, with lemon, pear, and chalky minerality. The texture is fine and controlled, supported by fresh acidity and subtle pastry notes.

Finish:
Long and clean, with lingering citrus, light toast, and a pronounced mineral edge. Crisp and persistent.
