Description

Description:

A vintage rose built on precision and structure, the 2013 release reflects a cooler growing season that preserved acidity and definition. Rather than overt ripeness, the emphasis falls on clarity, tension, and controlled development. Pinot Noir forms the backbone, providing both colour and structure, with Chardonnay supporting balance and lift. A portion of still red wine is incorporated into the blend, allowing careful control over tannin, colour, and aromatic profile. This approach gives the wine a more vinous character than lighter rose styles.

Fruit is sourced from selected Premier and Grand Cru vineyards, particularly in the Montagne de Reims, where Pinot Noir develops both depth and freshness. The combination of sites ensures balance between red fruit expression and underlying mineral structure. Each parcel is handled individually prior to blending, preserving detail and allowing precise adjustment of the final composition. Stainless steel fermentation maintains clarity, keeping the fruit profile clean and well defined.

Time spent on lees gradually builds texture and complexity. During this period, fine bubbles develop alongside notes of brioche, pastry, and subtle toasted elements, integrating with the red fruit core rather than dominating it. The 2013 vintage leans toward a more linear and structured style, where freshness and minerality shape the overall profile. It is less expansive than warmer years, but offers greater definition and ageing potential.

Tasting Notes
Nose:
Redcurrant, raspberry, and citrus are layered with light floral notes. Subtle hints of brioche and almond add depth.

Palate:
Structured and precise, with red berry fruit, grapefruit, and a fine mineral edge. The texture is smooth, supported by fresh acidity and gentle creaminess.

Finish:
Long and clean, with lingering red fruit, citrus, and light toast. A refined mineral note carries through to the end.
