Description

Description:

Inspired by Cape Town's historic Company's Garden, where some of the Cape's earliest Chenin Blanc vines were planted, The Cape Garden Chenin Blanc is part of Durbanville Hills' prestigious Collectors Reserve range. Each wine in the collection honours a celebrated Cape landmark while showcasing exceptional fruit from carefully selected vineyards. Crafted from a single vineyard in the cool-climate Durbanville region, this premium Chenin Blanc highlights the remarkable depth and elegance South African Chenin can achieve.

The grapes are harvested in the cool of the morning before undergoing an intricate winemaking process. Different portions of the wine are fermented in stainless steel, French oak barrels, amphorae and with indigenous yeasts, with every component spending nine months on its lees before blending. This meticulous approach creates impressive complexity, balancing vibrant fruit with creamy texture, subtle oak and refined mineral freshness.

Rich enough to accompany fine dining yet wonderfully balanced for everyday enjoyment, this Chenin Blanc pairs beautifully with creamy poultry dishes, mushroom risotto, seafood and aromatic cuisine. It is an outstanding example of modern South African winemaking, offering concentration, finesse and excellent ageing potential.
