Produced from 100% Merlot and matured in French oak, the 2023 vintage balances ripe fruit with refined structure. Cool maritime breezes from the nearby Atlantic Ocean help the grapes retain freshness, while careful oak ageing adds layers of vanilla, cedar and subtle spice without overpowering the vibrant fruit. Although approachable now, the wine has the concentration and balance to reward further cellaring. This is a full-bodied yet polished South African red that pairs beautifully with roast lamb, beef dishes, mushroom-based recipes and mature cheeses. Rich enough for special occasions but elegant enough for relaxed dining, it offers a sophisticated expression of Merlot with excellent ageing potential.
