Description

Description:

This is one of Chile’s most important wines, created as a tribute to Eduardo Chadwick’s father and produced from a single vineyard in Puente Alto, one of the most highly regarded areas of the Maipo Valley. It is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, made with the intention of competing with the world’s top wines, and the 2014 vintage became a defining moment when it received a perfect 100-point score, the first for a Chilean wine. The style sits between New World ripeness and Old World structure, but what stands out here is how seamlessly those elements come together. There is depth and concentration, but nothing feels forced, with a sense of control that runs through the wine from the start. Rather than opening broadly, it unfolds with a quiet precision, where the fruit, oak, and structure emerge together, giving a composed and almost effortless impression. The vintage itself brought balance, with even ripening and good natural acidity, which adds to the wine’s clarity and energy.

Across the palate, everything moves in a steady, uninterrupted line, with no sharp transitions, just a continuous build where dark fruit, fine tannin, and subtle spice remain closely aligned. The oak is fully absorbed into the structure, adding depth without standing apart. The texture is refined but firm, with very fine tannins that give shape and length while remaining polished, allowing the wine to feel both powerful and controlled at the same time. Overall, this is a benchmark Cabernet Sauvignon, showing how Chile can deliver both intensity and precision, with a style that feels complete, balanced, and built for long development.
