A rich golden colour. Glenfiddich Original has a fruity and floral aroma on the nose. There are notes of oak and a youthful, biscuity character to accompany the classic Glenfiddich hints of pear. On the palate, The Original is pleasantly sweet, with lively fruit notes and a soft vanilla oakiness. Adding a little water brings out delicate spices as well as citrus and fresh oatcakes. The finish is deliciously dry.
Background: In 1963, Glenfiddich brought single malt whisky to the world with Glenfiddich 'Straight Malt'. Today, Glenfiddich's Malt Master Brian Kinsman has worked to faithfully recreate the taste of this classic whisky from an original sample and the recipe found in an archive of leather-bound ledgers from the 60's. This exceptional reproduction allows you to sample the drink that changed the whisky world forever.
