This expression takes a more experimental approach to absinthe, combining the traditional high-strength base with pronounced fruit flavouring. Produced in the Czech Republic, it builds on a neutral spirit infused with wormwood, anise, and other classic botanicals, but introduces a strong "fruits of the forest" profile - typically dark berries such as blackberry and blackcurrant. The "XC" designation refers to its extremely high alcohol content, placing it among the strongest commercially available absinthes. Unlike classical absinthe styles, which prioritise herbal balance and natural coloration, this version leans heavily into intensity and flavour layering, blending herbal bitterness with sweet, dark fruit notes.
It is generally diluted before consumption, both to reduce strength and to open up its flavour profile. The added fruit character makes it more adaptable to modern serves, including cocktails where a combination of berry sweetness and herbal depth is desired.
