Hardy Wine Company was founded in 1853 after Thomas Hardy arrived in Australia from England. Hardy spent three years working as a gold miner to earn money to purchase a property on the banks of the River Torrens, which he would turn into a vineyard and begin making wine, releasing his first vintage in 1857. So successful was this operation that he was soon able to acquire further vineyards.

Today, the Hardy winemakers are in their fifth generation, and as passionate about wine as ever. The company's success and acquisitions over the years have made the company the number one wine brand in the UK and Australia, with exports around the globe and countless awards to their name.
