This expression is part of Havana Club’s Iconica range and reflects a collaborative blending approach led by the brand’s Maestros del Ron Cubano. Produced from molasses and distilled in column stills, it is aged in oak before undergoing a secondary selection and finishing process, where chosen barrels are blended and returned to cask for further integration. This additional step distinguishes it from standard aged expressions, allowing for greater depth and cohesion. Unlike age-stated releases, the focus here is on cask selection and blending expertise rather than a defined minimum age. The rum is bottled at a slightly higher strength than typical Cuban expressions, giving it more body and intensity while maintaining the balance and smoothness associated with the style.
It is well suited to sipping neat or over ice, where its added structure and layered character can be appreciated, but it also performs in spirit-forward cocktails where a fuller Cuban rum profile is desired.
