This expression represents a more developed style within the Janneau range, combining both column and pot still distillation to achieve balance between structure and aromatic richness. Produced in the Armagnac region of Gascony, it is aged in French oak for a longer period than VS, allowing for greater integration of wood and spirit while retaining the category’s characteristic fruit-driven profile. The extended maturation softens the more rustic edges often associated with younger Armagnac, bringing forward a rounder and more cohesive character. Compared to Cognac, it maintains a slightly fuller and more expressive style, reflecting the influence of single distillation and a stronger connection to the base wine. It is well suited to neat consumption or over ice, where its balance of fruit and oak can be appreciated, and can also be used in cocktails that benefit from a richer, more characterful brandy base.
