Description

Description:

At 9 litres, this sits in an interesting middle ground. Big enough to change how the wine behaves, but not as extreme as the very large formats. The result is a version that feels calmer and more settled, without losing its identity. Lanson’s signature comes through immediately. There is a noticeable freshness and edge that doesn’t round out easily, even with time. Compared to many non vintage Champagnes, it keeps a firmer, more upright shape. What shifts here is how everything sits together. The fruit is less sharp on entry and more evenly spread across the palate. Citrus and apple feel smoother, and the usual pastry notes are more blended in rather than standing out. It feels less like separate elements and more like one continuous line from start to finish.

Tasting Notes
Nose:
Straightforward and clean. Lemon, green apple, and a light floral note, with a faint hint of baked pastry underneath.

Palate:
Even and controlled. Citrus and orchard fruit come through clearly, supported by a gentle creaminess rather than overt richness.

Finish:
Steady and persistent. Freshness carries through, with a clean, slightly mineral close.

Background: One of the oldest Champagne Houses, Lanson was founded in 1760 by Francois Delamotte, a magistrate from Reims. The values and expertise that created the unique and enduring style of Champagne Lanson have been handed down from generation to generation. Since 1760, this has been the guiding philosophy of the successive generations that have promoted Lanson throughout the world. Centuries in the dedicated pursuit of perfection have established the House of Lanson as one of the premier champagne makers. Today, the marriage of a contemporary dynamism with age-old tradition brings pleasure to millions the world over. The beautiful cellars in the Rue de Courlancy were acquired in the early 1900s. These developments proved highly successful and during the late 19th Century, Lanson was supplying champagne by royal appointment to the courts of the United Kingdom, Sweden and Spain. This success has continued throughout the 20th Century and today the same ambitious spirit to conquer new markets has established Lanson as a Grande Maison worldwide. Presented in a Lanson branded Wood Box.
