This sits at the more structured end of the house range, but with time it has moved away from tension and into something more composed. The 2004 vintage gives it balance rather than extremes, so what stands out is how evenly everything has developed rather than any single dominant feature. Chardonnay plays a stronger role here than in the core wines, which shifts the feel slightly. There is still backbone, but it comes across as more controlled and less sharp. The fruit leans toward citrus and white orchard notes, but they feel settled rather than bright.
Age has changed the profile quite noticeably. The primary fruit has softened, and the secondary notes have come forward. Toasted almond, pastry, and a light honeyed character now sit alongside the remaining citrus, giving the wine more depth without making it heavy. The texture is where the step up is most obvious. The mousse is very fine, and the wine feels smoother and more continuous across the palate. There are no hard edges, everything transitions gradually. Even with that development, it does not become broad or overly rich. The structure is still there, just less exposed. It holds the wine together rather than driving it.
