Longmorn 16 Year Old is the only official single malt expression from this Speyside distillery whose malts are more commonly found as components of blended whiskies. This remarkable expression is matured in a combination of former sherry, American and traditional oak casks and presented without chill-filtration. Aromas of fruit are present up front, both orchard and citrus, with some creamy vanilla and cereal character. Rich and full-bodied on the palate, fruity and floral notes, sweet honey and smooth milk chocolate. A warm and sweet finish. A harmonious and perfectly balanced single malt. The name 'Longmorn' derives from the Scots Gaelic 'Lhanmorgund', meaning "place of the holy man", referring to St Marnan, who brought Christianity to the nearby region. |
