Description

Description:

Longmorn 23 Year Old (Secret Speyside Collection) is a rare and elegantly matured single malt from one of Speyside’s most quietly revered distilleries. Longmorn Distillery - founded in 1893 in the heart of Speyside - is known for producing whiskies of remarkable silkiness, pure fruit expression, and refined texture. This 23 year old release comes from the distillery’s "Secret Speyside Collection", a series that highlights extraordinary aged stocks chosen for their distinctive depth and balance rather than volume. Bottled at 48% ABV without chill filtration, this whisky showcases the profound transformation that nearly a quarter-century of slow oak ageing can impart.

Over more than two decades in a combination of ex-bourbon and occasional sherry casks, Longmorn’s malt spirit acquires remarkable integration of fruit, spice, and oak. The result is a mature expression that feels both richly developed and superbly balanced - where oak influence enhances rather than overwhelms the distillery’s inherent sweetness and Speyside clarity

Tasting Notes
Appearance
Deep amber with glowing mahogany highlights and slow, plentiful legs that hint at its concentrated texture.

Aroma
Complex and refined. Ripe orchard fruits-poached pear and baked apple-lead, followed by honey-drizzled shortbread, candied orange, and rich vanilla pod. Deeper notes of toasted oak, cinnamon stick, and soft leather emerge with time, complemented by subtle spice and a whisper of dried fig.

Palate
Silky, layered, and succulent. Sweet vanilla and caramelized orchard fruit open the palate, evolving into toasted almond, warm spice, and dark honey. Mid-palate reveals richer elements of baking spice, nutmeg, and cocoa-dust depth, all framed by delicate oak tannins that add structure without harshness.

Finish
Long, warming, and elegantly complex, with lingering dried fruit sweetness, gentle spice echo, and a polished oak fade that tapers into refined malt sweetness..
