Intense brick red scarlet colour. Complex aromas of red berry and raspberry jam fruit with subtle cinnamon and vanilla flavours. Full and rounded on the palate with fruit flavours of raspberry, cherry, and ripe plum, balanced with caramel and vanilla oak characters. A soft balanced wine with subtle oak flavours integrated with the lifted raspberry and plum fruit flavours. Ideal for current drinking or short to medium term cellaring.
Background: The grapes were sourced from various irrigated and dry land vineyards, and picked at optimum flavour ripeness by machine during the cool of the night. Grapes were fermented for a period of 7 days at moderate temperatures. The grapes were then pressed through tank presses and then clarified and seeded with malolactic bacteria. After this fermentation the wine was then centrifuged, blended and matured on oak prior to bottling.
