Ingredients:
Pour the Pimms's No. 1 into a highball glass with ice cubes. Add lemonade or ginger ale (we prefer ginger ale here). Garnish with a slice of lemon and orange in the glass, and a cucumber zest twist, and a sprig of fresh mint. Seeing pictures of this cocktail it is easy to get carried away with the use of more fruit. However this can detract from the taste of the Pimms mix.
Pimms No. 1 is a bitter, fruit drink with a dry-gin base. Served as a cup, Pimm's No. 1 is the original and most popular gin-sling. Pimm's became a hip feminine drinks of the 1950's and 1960's, and no doubt this was helped along by the marketing, which expressed the drink as an elegant society drink. Pimms No. 1 is one of very few pre-mixed cocktail drinks that are used by professional bartenders.
