Produced in Barbados, this rum is a blend of pot and column still distillates, reflecting the island's traditional approach to combining weight and refinement. Made from molasses, fermentation is followed by distillation in both still types, with pot still components contributing depth and aromatic richness, while column still distillates add structure and balance. The blend is composed of rums aged between approximately 5 and 17 years in ex-bourbon casks, with additional finishing in select barrels to enhance integration. Tropical aging plays a key role, accelerating extraction from the oak and intensifying interaction between spirit and wood. This results in a more concentrated profile compared to spirits aged in cooler climates.
Compared to lighter expressions, the extended maturation brings greater complexity and a more pronounced oak influence, while still maintaining the drier, balanced style typical of Barbadian rum. The interplay between pot and column distillates ensures that richness is supported by clarity rather than becoming overly heavy. Time in the glass allows the aromas to open and evolve, revealing additional layers beyond the initial impression.
