Mr Black Coffee Liqueur is the creation of two Australian coffee lovers with the aim of taking coffee "into the evening". Their liqueur is created from a blend of three different coffee beans. French roasted Brazilian arabica beans bring a fresh taste to the drink. Medium-light roasted Ethiopian djimmah beans impart rich toffee and chocolate notes. Finally, beans from Papua New Guinea bring a hint of tangy citrus. A cold-extraction method is used, at around 23°C, so as to extract less of the acidity that can be produced by coffee at higher temperatures. The liqueur is bottled without any additional flavourings or preservatives. The pitch-black liqueur conceals a work of art on the bottle itself. As the drink is consumed, an artistic depiction of an owl will slowly become visible on the glass.
