Muckle Flugga Single Malt is exceptionally smooth and honeyed with hints of a fruit sherry finish. A stunningly smooth premium malt whisky, Muckle Flugga Single Malt has a mellow flavour that comes from final maturation in Shetland, known as one of the wildest places in Britain. Individual casks of Single Speyside malts from mainland Scotland are selected and then shipped to the most northerly place in Britain, Unst, on the Shetland Islands. The malt whisky is then over wintered and the wet, cool and windy conditions of Northern Shetland accelerate maturation of the whisky over the winter months. The name of this malt whisky comes from the famous Muckle Flugga lighthouse built by Robert Louis Stevenson's father, that's at the northern tip of the Shetlands. All bottles are individually numbered and traced back to the original cask.
