Made in Mexico by Patron Spirits Company, this is a really interesting crossover between tequila and coffee liqueur. Instead of going heavily sweet like a lot of coffee liqueurs, Patron XO Cafe keeps things much drier and more spirit-forward, so you still get that agave character underneath the coffee.
It's made using Patron Silver tequila blended with natural coffee essence, giving it a darker, roasted flavour without becoming thick or syrupy. The balance is what makes it stand out - rich espresso notes up front, followed by the earthy, peppery edge of tequila underneath. It's bold enough to sip chilled on its own, but also works brilliantly in Espresso Martinis or poured over ice. Compared to sweeter coffee liqueurs, this feels sharper, cleaner, and a bit more grown-up, especially if you enjoy proper coffee flavour rather than dessert-style sweetness.
