The original alternative aperitif since 1870. Dark brown in colour with a bitter flavour. Punt e Mes is a rare example of a 'vermouth amaro', a style of vermouth with extra bitters added. It can be enjoyed on its own smooth and very cold, or with soda, or 'on the rocks' with an orange slice. It's also an essential foundation of legendary cocktails
Background: Punt e Mes means 'point and a half' in the Piedmont dialect. The origins of it's name are rather unusual in that its name originates from the stock brokers who drank it, who when asked how their day had been, would answer that their stocks had gone up by 'a point and a half'. |
