Sakurao Original Gin is a craft gin created using 9 kinds of Japanese botanicals including; fresh lemon, navel oranges, sweet summer oranges, yuzu, dai dai, jinoki, green tea, akoshiso and ginger. It is distilled using a combination of steeping and vapour methods. In addition to the 9 Japanese botanicals, 5 types of botanicals are imported including juniper berry, coriander seed, angelica root and cassia bark. The fusion of a citrus-like aroma with the traditional taste of gin is the most distinctive feature of the original gin. The botanicals used produce a wide variety of aromatic notes, including citrus lemon and the rich fragrance of yuzu, as well as aromas from Japanese cypress and oyster shells. The gin also uses cherry blossoms, known as sakura in Japanese, which is the symbol of Sakurao, where the distillery is located. Sakurao Gin is created with 100 years of experience in distilling techniques and know-how and using only the best ingredients available.
