Developed as a floral reinterpretation of the distillery's core botanical framework, this expression places rose at the forefront while maintaining the structural integrity expected of a classic London dry style. Produced in Surrey at the Silent Pool distillery, the spirit reflects both contemporary botanical layering and traditional distillation discipline. The base spirit is derived from neutral grain alcohol, selected for its purity and minimal congeners. This ensures that delicate aromatic compounds, particularly those from floral botanicals, remain clearly defined in the final distillate. As with other expressions from the distillery, production takes place in a copper pot still system designed to accommodate both maceration and vapor infusion techniques.
A total of 24 botanicals are employed, though the composition is adjusted to emphasize rose. Fresh and dried rose petals are introduced at different stages of distillation to capture both volatile top notes and deeper, more resinous floral characteristics. Bulgarian rose and Moroccan rose are typically used for their contrasting aromatic profiles, one offering a bright, lifted perfume and the other a richer, slightly spiced depth. Supporting botanicals include chamomile, lavender, and elderflower, which contribute to a layered floral matrix without overwhelming the primary rose character. Citrus elements such as orange and lemon peel are retained in reduced proportion to provide lift and prevent the profile from becoming overly dense. Juniper remains present but is deliberately softened, acting as a structural anchor rather than the dominant note.
The distillation process separates heavier botanicals from fragile floral components, allowing precise control over extraction. Rose petals, in particular, are handled carefully to avoid excessive heat exposure, which can result in bitterness or loss of aromatic clarity. The final blend is assembled post-distillation, ensuring balance between floral intensity and classical gin structure. Dilution is carried out using water from the Silent Pool, contributing a subtle mineral softness that enhances mouthfeel and integrates the floral elements. No post-distillation sweetening or artificial flavoring is applied, preserving the technical purity of the spirit.
