Slingsby's Rhubarb Gin was first conceived as a limited edition experimental offering, but proved so popular that Slingsby have now incorporated it into their core range. This delightful spirit is crafted from the exceptional London Dry gin that forms the core of the Slingsby range, blended with a rhubarb distillate. Fresh rhubarb grown in Wakefield is blended with water and neutral spirit and left to infuse for up to ten days. This mixture is then distilled to extract the delicious rhubarb flavour. The resulting gin smells distinctively like old fashioned rhubarb and custard boiled sweets. The herbal characteristics of the core London Dry gin are noticeable, though they play a minor role in comparison to the sweet shop experience. No sugar is added, and so this is not a liqueur, but when sipped neat will nonetheless satisfy anyone with a sweet tooth.
