If you want a proper introduction to modern Irish whiskey, this set does it in one go. Made in Dublin by Teeling, it brings together three very different styles - all bottled at a solid 46% and showing off the brand's more experimental approach to ageing and blending . Each bottle has its own identity, so it's less about one flavour and more about seeing how different casks and recipes change the whisky.
Teeling Single Grain
This one's a bit different from typical Irish whiskey - it's made mostly from corn and aged in wine casks, which gives it a sweeter, fruitier feel. Expect softer notes with a slightly silky texture and a bit of berry character coming through .
Teeling Small Batch
Probably the easiest to get into. It's a blend finished in rum casks, which adds a layer of sweetness and spice. You get caramel, vanilla, and a slightly richer feel, but it still stays smooth and easy-going.
Teeling Single Malt
The most complex of the three. It's aged in a mix of different casks (including port, Madeira, and bourbon), which gives it more depth. You'll notice more fruit, a bit of chocolate, and a longer, more layered finish .
This set works really well as a side-by-side tasting - you can actually see how much difference cask ageing makes without needing to know loads about whisky.
