Description

Description:

Developed around a traditional London dry structure, this gin draws conceptual influence from the Tulchan Estate in Speyside, Scotland, although distillation is carried out in established Scottish distilleries. The design of the spirit reflects a balance between classical gin construction and a slightly more rural, estate-inspired botanical profile. A neutral grain spirit is used as the base, selected for its purity and clean character. Production follows a London dry method, meaning all botanicals are introduced prior to distillation and no flavouring is added afterwards. This ensures that the final profile is created entirely through distillation rather than post-process blending.

The botanical mix includes the classic foundation of juniper, coriander seed, angelica root, and citrus peel. Alongside these, sloe berries are incorporated as a distinguishing element. Unlike sloe gin, where fruit is infused after distillation, the sloes here are distilled with the other botanicals, contributing subtle depth without adding sweetness. Botanicals are macerated in the base spirit before distillation, allowing essential oils to be fully extracted. The spirit is then distilled in copper pot stills, where careful temperature control and copper contact refine the liquid and enhance aromatic clarity. Precise cut points are used to retain clean and balanced flavours.

The inclusion of sloe and other supporting botanicals adds a faint fruit undertone and a slightly broader mid palate, while maintaining a dry and structured profile. Water used for dilution is treated to ensure consistency and preserve balance. Overall, the gin remains firmly within a classic framework but introduces a mild variation in depth and character through its botanical selection.

Tasting Notes
Nose:
Juniper led with fresh pine and citrus peel. A subtle dark fruit note sits underneath, supported by light herbal tones.

Palate:
Structured and balanced, with juniper at the centre. Citrus and coriander provide brightness, while a gentle fruit depth and soft spice develop through the middle.

Finish:
Medium length, with lingering juniper and mild spice. A clean dryness remains, with a faint fruit note at the end.
