Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame 2012 is direct, refined and balanced. There are initial notes of white flowers on the nose, including jasmine, honeysuckle and vine flowers. This develops into fruitier nuances of apple, pear and peach. A touch of fresh sliced almond and frangipane completes the bouquet. To taste, the cuvée reveals more depth and complexity, with hints of dried apricot, hazelnuts, honey and sugar candy. The silky textures give the wine its personality, elegance and bold character. Aging has imparted further depth and power to the wine.
