First created in the 18th century, Warrior is the oldest continuously shipped brand from Warre's, produced in the Douro Valley. It represents a classic Reserve Ruby style, blended from a selection of full-bodied wines sourced from the estate’s vineyards and trusted growers. Built on traditional Douro varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Roriz, the wine reflects the house’s hallmark balance between richness and structure.
Rather than extended cask ageing, the emphasis is on retaining primary fruit while allowing sufficient time in large oak vats for the components to harmonise. This approach preserves depth and colour while softening the texture, creating a style that is more developed than basic Ruby Port but still driven by youthful character. Positioned at an entry-level to mid-tier level, it offers a dependable and widely recognised expression, combining intensity with accessibility.
