Description

Description:

Presented in jeroboam format (3 litres, equivalent to four standard bottles), this expression is the large-format version of Bollinger's non vintage rose Champagne. The increased volume plays a significant role in development, slowing oxidation and allowing the wine to evolve more gradually, resulting in finer mousse and greater integration. The blend follows Bollinger's house style, with a clear dominance of Pinot Noir, typically around 60 percent, supported by Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. Pinot Noir provides structure, depth, and red fruit character, while Chardonnay contributes freshness and precision, and Meunier adds softness and accessibility.

A defining feature of Bollinger rose production is the addition of still red wine, sourced primarily from Grand Cru vineyards such as Ay and Verzenay. This method, rather than skin maceration, allows precise control over colour, tannin, and flavour, giving the wine a more vinous and structured character. Vinification includes fermentation partly in oak barrels, a hallmark of Bollinger's style. This introduces controlled oxygen exposure, enhancing texture and complexity while preserving the core fruit. Reserve wines are also incorporated into the blend, sometimes aged for several years, contributing depth and consistency.

Extended ageing on lees develops autolytic characteristics such as brioche, pastry, and nutty notes, while maintaining freshness. In jeroboam format, this ageing process is slower and more refined, producing a more cohesive and balanced Champagne. The overall style is powerful yet controlled, combining ripe red fruit with structure, freshness, and subtle oak influence. Compared to lighter rose Champagnes, it is more vinous and layered, with a profile that reflects Bollinger's Pinot Noir driven identity.

Tasting Notes
Nose:
Expressive and complex, with raspberry, blackberry, and redcurrant. Subtle notes of brioche, citrus, and light spice add depth.

Palate:
Full and structured, with red berry fruit, citrus, and a creamy texture. Pinot Noir provides weight, balanced by freshness and fine bubbles.

Finish:
Long and refined, with lingering red fruit, toasted notes, and a light mineral edge. A gentle dryness gives a persistent and elegant close.

The bottle is presented in a pink Bollinger Rose branded wood box.
